I write about women who are happy in their marriages and hungry for more of themselves. And for the men that love their women.

Welcome To My Study

I’m Simone Marlow. I write literary fiction about the interior lives of people in long relationships — the desires they've stopped naming, the selves they've stopped showing, and what happens when both finally surface. My work draws on depth psychology and thirty years of observing what people actually want versus what they allow themselves to have. I am living happy on the Gulf Coast.

A ‘controlled burn’ clears what has accumulated. What grows back is healthier, more alive, more itself. That is what I believe about marriage — that it is capable of more than comfort, that the locked rooms inside us are worth opening, and that the right person to open them with is often the one who has been beside you all along.

Leah travels for her work and has sat in more hotel lounges than she cares to count. A mild 40 minute conversation with a man with green eyes sets off a sequence of experiences that she never imagined - and her husband Mark never thought was possible. It takes them to a boutique hotel in The Bahamas in the midst of a tropical storm. What could go wrong?

Carl Jung’s concept of the sexual shadow in the inspiration of most of my writing . In the Bad in Boston series, three women walking different paths intersect and grow to be more of themselves by challenging what they think they know about themselves. Bella switches it up in her marriage; Rita discovers a submissive side, and Kelly plays a role she never thought she would play. All three grow through respectful, consensual, erotic pleasure.
